    I miss my usual training sessions but this virus is keeping everyone off the mat. What I wouldn’t give to throw and be thrown! It’s not all bad though. I’m taking the opportunity to up my fitness through cycling (17 miles this evening) and running – making the most of outdoor exercise and enjoying my beautiful surroundings. Been practicing katas (working on my ‘whip’) and trying not to be quite so wooden! In my head everything flows beautifully – in reality however… think I’d better keep practicing!

    Hi Karen,

    Everyone is missing training and not knowing when we can start back again is frustrating.
    Well done on the cycling, jogging and katas, keep working on your katas and your hard work will pay off.
    Best part of the world is Dorset, so enjoy the sunshine keep training and writing your blob.

    As Well As My Ju-Jitsu Training I Also Run The Ladies Fitness Class. This Last Couple Of Weeks Has Been About Keeping Everyone Motivated by Sharing Our Training Experiences. Ladies Who Have Never Run Before Are Doing Couch To 5k, Those Who Really Don’t Like Skipping Are Picking Up A Rope, There’s Hula Hooping Going On, Cycling, Home Workouts – You Name It They’re Doing It.
    We All Need Targets And Goals. My Main Driving Force Is My Black Belt Training. I Can’t Lose My Fitness Right Now – I’ll Need Every Ounce Of It When I’m Back On The Mat And Training For A Grading. That’s a while away yet, But I’ll Be as Ready as I can be.

    Been running through all my katas – don’t know why I struggle with the yellow belt kata! I’m even practicing in the office when no one else is around! Keen to work on my black belt Syllabus so I’m studying a few videos that will help with my sets.
    Pretty sure my extra fitness training is starting to pay off. I got home from a run yesterday thinking I’d done about 5km but I’d actually done nearly 9km. Really pleased with that.
    I have to confess to putting on some weight over the last 12 months but I’m starting to notice small changes now. I was trying to work out why I’d put on weight and the truth is I started to to sit back a little after competing in Gibraltar in 2018. Having won the gold medal for sparring, and bronze for ground fighting, I became a bit lazy. Big mistake and lesson learned!
